田中说：总有人问我，是否喜欢中国。其实这不是喜欢不喜欢的问题，我觉得中国是个有生气的地方，更重要的时候在中国的工作中找到了生活的意义，在中国能够感受到显著的时代跃动，这是在日本所体验不到的。
听田中说起，外国人在中国找房子其实并不难，前不久到房地产公司找房子，房东得知是日本人，反而很愿意借房子给他，因为觉得日本人信得过，不会出现拖欠房租之类的事。相比之下，外国人在日本找房子就要难得多，通常要找保证人之类的。很多房东不愿意把房子借给外国人。
生活在中国的日本人最喜欢中国的东西就是食物了，许多网友把在中国吃到的食物拍照传到网上，自嘲在中国学会了“腐败”，体重不断增加。不少在中国生活的日本人说，不喜欢中国的政治制度，但是对中国文化很感兴趣；不喜欢一些地方脏乱差的环境，但是很喜欢身边的中国朋友。
