Chinese schools in Laos, near the border with China, are popular with locals. Government schools are also starting Chinese courses to meet students' needs. The liaodu middle school of vientiane has been running for 77 years. Walking into the campus, I met a group of students who were preparing to leave after playing basketball. One of them said that learning Chinese could facilitate the sale of goods from China to Laos.

However, there are also experts who warn that high salaries can leave a good name for Chinese companies, but they are not conducive to the long-term development of Chinese companies in Laos. Secondly, Chinese companies pay high, will other countries on human resources and funding in Laos enterprise formation pressure, cause envy, but go against the competition of the foreign capital enterprise in Laos.

  在老挝靠近中国边界的城镇,中文学校遍地开花,深受当地人欢迎。政府学校也开始办起中文课程,以满足学生的需要。万象的寮都中学,至今已办学77个年头。走进校园,遇到一群打完篮球准备离开的学生,其中一个表示,学中文可以方便以后从中国进货到老挝贩卖。
  寮都中学董事长兼校长林俊雄介绍,学校採用“双语教学”,学生人数最多时候超过5000人,由于师资和学额有限,很多当地学生都没有机会就读该校。
  “有很多老挝的政府官员把孩子送到我们学校来,包括总理的孩子都是从这里毕业后到中国武汉留学的。”林俊雄介绍,学生90%是本地人,仅有1-2%是华侨,而且大多数都不懂中文。
  在中国广西、云南等地,政府向老挝学生提供了各类奖学金,为老挝学生赴华留学创造了良好条件。近年来,获得中国政府奖学金资助先后赴华留学的老挝学生已逾千人。他们大多学成回国后成了老挝经济社会领域的骨干人才。
  不过,也有专家提醒,高薪招人虽然给中资企业留下了好名声,但是不利于中资企业在老挝的长远发展。从经济规律角度讲,高薪随?加薪的递进,将增加企业的负担;而如果长期不加薪,就可能像今天的柬埔寨一样,罢工不断,商家遭殃。其二是中资企业待遇高,将在人力资源和经费开支上对其他国家在老挝的企业形成压力,招致妒恨,反而不利于外资企业在老挝的公平竞争。
