So, in Japan, many young people learn Chinese, and it is easy for Chinese students to find jobs here.
 
I see that the children of my Chinese friends are almost all learning Chinese. For Chinese parents, letting their children learn Chinese is not only about inheriting Chinese civilization, but also mastering a powerful survival weapon. Because China is not only the carrier of an ancient civilization, but also the source power of the overseas Chinese today and tomorrow. Should overseas Chinese children learn Chinese? I think there is no doubt about it. Chinese people, black eyes and yellow skin, whether or not born in China, if do not understand Chinese, is very awkward.
 
As to whether the children born abroad should be sent back to China to study, I think it depends on the parents' ideas and more importantly, the economic conditions of parents and the environment of work and life.
 
In overseas, some overseas Chinese are migrant workers, economic condition and living environment more bad, both husband and wife may not have time and energy to take good care of their children, also does not have the ability to create a good environment for children to learn the local language while learning Chinese. They often choose to send their children back to China, where they can be brought back abroad.
 
There are also many overseas Chinese who do business well and have the financial ability to take care of their children. Some of these people may think that only sending children back to China can learn Chinese well. There are also many people who believe that it is equally important to learn the local language well and learn Chinese well. I belong to the latter group myself.
 
To be honest, I personally believe that children born abroad should not be sent back to China. I chose to leave my child with me and try to create conditions for my child to learn Chinese while learning the local language. I do this in three main ways.
 
Send the child back to China, Chinese is good, but because of the lack of objective conditions for learning foreign language, the foreign language is abandoned. When children grow up and bring them abroad, they can't even try to bring local linguistics to their mother tongue, which limits their employment and development.
 
I also feel that I should not send my child back to China. I don't think it's appropriate for children to leave their parents at the age of five or six to fifteen or sixteen. Send back to China, may have grandparents, maternal grandparents or uncles and aunts to take care of. But they are no substitute for their parents. Parents working and living abroad, sending their children back to China to study, is very bad for their healthy growth. I have a lot of children to send back to China after the children, and these children often have a very good relationship with their grandparents, and they have nothing to talk about with their parents. And, although they have a good literature, English is a little bit, but Hungarian is not. In other words, when students were in fifth grade in Spain, they were in fourth grade in China. We hope that he can have class with his former classmates. And, interestingly, although both Chinese and Spanish teachers have a strong sense of responsibility for their students, he thinks Chinese teachers are more likable and humane than Spanish ones.
 
Now, as soon as someone starts talking about sending their kids back to elementary school, I still think I made the right choice, including the kids themselves. The child said that if she did not return to China, she really did not know what she would think of China and Chinese. In retrospect, I like Chinese and Chinese teachers and classmates.
 
In China, we can see that every time he finishes his homework, he has a great sense of achievement. Of course, her sense of accomplishment comes from other sources. 送子归,孝文化生了根

看到人民日报海外版《送孩子回中国读书,走起》的文章,按捺不住,很想参与讨论。
我先介绍一下我所处的工作环境。我在日本一家上市公司工作。日本的上市企业,是非常注意员工培训的。我们公司每周有两次课,一次英文,另一次,就是中文。中日之间一年贸易量达3500亿美元以上,因而需要大量的会中文的年轻人。因此,在日本,许多年轻人学习中文,中国留学生自然也容易在这里找到工作。
我看到,我周围中国朋友们的孩子几乎都在学习中文。对于中国家长而言,让孩子学习中文,不仅仅是传承中华文明,而且是掌握了一个强势的生存武器。因为,中国不仅仅是一个古老文明的载体,更是与海外华人今天与明天的命运相连的源动力。我经常与海外华人朋友交心,庆幸我们是中国人,因为,中国繁荣富有了,带给我们在海外各种发展机会。当然,也成就了各国年轻人的“中国梦”。
我讲几个真实的小故事:
故事一,徳重美恵,高中毕业后,只身去中国留学,在湖南师范大学整整学习了4年。她拿到本科文凭后,被上海一家大型日企录用,3年后,考入东京一家上市游戏公司。她说,作为一个日本女孩,这条留学之路真的走对了。
故事二,欧阳鸣夏,我的孩子,在东京出生,7岁时,与5岁的妹妹一同被送往上海读书一年半。现在,他在洛杉矶,与妹妹一同读私立高中名校LaSalle HS。他刚满17岁,阳光、孝顺、守纪律。我个人觉得,阳光,是美国文化给他的,孝顺则是中国文化给他的,守纪律是日本文化给他的。虽然在中国受教育的时间不长,但孩子是很小的时候回了中国,所以中国文化最核心价值之一——孝文化在他心田播下了一颗种子,如今,这种子已经长成了参天大树。现在,他不仅替我照顾妈妈和妹妹,更是我心灵上的朋友。
对了,我在写这个稿子时他表示要替我写一段。大家看看,一个只受过一年多中文教育的孩子,是如何代表爸爸表述“我的心情”的——
“今天是周末。我早晨起来,打开窗户,看着美丽的东京湾。一丝的凉风吹进来,我感到了一些凉意。是思念还是挂念分不太清。这使我想起上周的今天,一家4口在一起的欢言笑语。而现在,只有通过视频才可以看到西海岸的亲人。这使我不仅又在思考,孩子们是否该远离父亲,由母亲一个人带他们去那么远的国家学习呢?记得儿子7岁,女儿5岁时,他们也是由他们的妈妈带去上海学习中文……”这是儿子在中国国内学习的成果,也是一位父亲发自内心的骄傲。朋友们,千万别迟疑,把孩子送回中国一段时间,肯定没错的。这样,这个家庭才会有一个心灵上的精神家园,她的名字叫中国。

孩子小时回国,单“漂”不好

读了人民日报海外版《送孩子回中国读书,走起》一文,我有些自己的想法,想说出来和大家分享一下。
在海外的华侨华人子女该不该学习中文?我认为这一点是毫无疑问的。中国人嘛,黑眼睛黄皮肤,不管是否生在中国,如果不懂中文,是很尴尬的一件事。
至于是不是应该把在海外出生的孩子送回中国读书,我觉得这要看父母的想法,更重要的,要看父母的经济条件以及工作和生活的环境。
在海外,有些华侨华人是打工者,经济条件和生活环境比较差,夫妻两个可能没有时间和精力照顾好自己的孩子,也没有能力创造好的环境让孩子在学好当地语言的同时学好中文。他们通常会选择把孩子送回中国,等孩子长大后再接回国外。
还有许多华侨华人做生意做得还不错,有经济能力也有时间和精力照顾自己的孩子。这些人中可能有一部分认为,只有把孩子送回中国才能学好中文;也有很多人相信,学好当地语言和学好中文同样重要。我自己就属于这后一种人。
说实话,我个人认为,不应该把在海外出生的孩子送回中国。我就选择了把孩子留在身边,并努力创造条件让孩子在学习当地语言的同时学好中文。我这么做主要有三方面的考虑。
把孩子送回中国,中文是学好了,但是由于缺乏学习外语的客观条件,国外的当地语言就放弃了。等孩子长大后再带到国外,孩子再努力也没办法把当地语言学到母语水平了,这对孩子的就业和发展会造成很大限制。
的健康成长以及家庭温馨来讲,我也觉得不应该把孩子送回中国。我认为,孩子在五六岁到十五六岁这个阶段是不适合离开父母的。送回中国,可能会有爷爷奶奶、外公外婆或者叔叔阿姨来照顾。但是,他们再贴心再关怀,也不能替代父母。父母在国外工作生活,把孩子送回中国读书,对孩子的健康成长非常不利。我身边就有很多人生完孩子后把孩子送回中国,这些孩子常常和爷爷奶奶关系特别好,和爸爸妈妈反而没什么话可聊。而且,虽然他们中文学得不错,英语也会一点点,但是匈语就完全不会。十四五岁时再把他们接回匈牙利,孩子的匈语最多学个半吊子。这样做对孩子的全面发展非常不利。
从宏观的方面来考虑,说的大一点,从国家的长期战略利益来说,我觉得,我们不缺中文说得好的人,缺的是对外国、尤其是小语种国家有充分了解的中国人。我觉得,我们应该鼓励那些在国外出生的孩子留在当地学习当地语言、了解当地文化,同时创造条件让他们学好中文,这样才可能对中国的对外交往起到更好的作用。
我自己有三个孩子,在几个孩子的学习安排上,我始终坚持自己的想法。现在,我们家老二考取了匈牙利的大学,老三考取了英国的大学。我初步的想法是等她们大学毕业后,安排她们到中国相对好的大学留学一两年,让她们的中文水平在匈牙利中文学校学习的基础上更进一步。我觉得这样的做法是比较实际的。

在东南亚,这早已是传统

人民日报海外版8月6日刊出《送孩子回中国读书,走起》,叙述了当下巴拿马华侨华人从小把子女送到中国念书之“壮举”。其实,经过深思熟虑之后做此“望乡”举措者,也不只是中南美洲的华侨华人。如东南亚就是海外举足轻重的华人侨居地,华人子女到中国念书早已是个传统。身为马来西亚第三代华人的笔者,就有好几位伯父姑母,虽也在本地出生长大,却毕业自中国的高等院校。
当代东南亚与中南美华人送孩子到中国念书,既有其相似之处,也有不同的做法。相似的在于其出发点。如笔者的一位朋友、马来西亚某黄姓资深侨领,其公子就刚自广州暨南大学本科毕业。笔者问起黄氏,为何没有像一些其他本地华人大亨般,将其子女送赴英国、美国、澳大利亚等地念书,让子女从小就“全盘西化”呢?黄氏回答说,他自己从小在英式教育的环境中长大,觉得欧美文化没有太多特别之处,反而觉得自己祖籍国(中国)的文化与学问博大精深,应该让下一代更深刻了解与体会中华文化的精粹,所以毅然把儿子送到中国深造。笔者发觉,有越来越多的东南亚华人,也意识到中华文化传承的重要性,而把这火炬让子女扛下去。
另外一个送子女到中国念书的出发点则是较为贴近时势的。近年来中国的全方位崛起,已是举世瞩目的不争事实,好些海外华人也一改过去独尊西方的思维,转而希望子女能更深入地了解中国国情,以便以后无论是做生意、找工作,甚或组织家庭等,皆能先占上风。前述黄氏就坦率地、但也充满前瞻性地对笔者说,这个世纪是属于亚洲人的,更是中国人的,他的家族一贯从商,当然希望子女能对中国这头亚洲“领头羊”能更为熟悉,以后在中国发展就更为顺利。
然而东南亚华人送孩子到中国念书的具体做法,毕竟与中南美还是不尽相同的。个别东南亚国家,如马来西亚,其实早已发展出一套完整的从幼儿园直到大学的中文教育系统,如笔者就自小受中文教育直到高中毕业。当地华人一般是在本科层次才把子女送到中国念书,绝少在中小学时就把孩子送到国内,因认为孩子的中文根基在当地也能一样扎得稳。而且大多的做法还是中西并重,例如把孩子送到中国念本科,过后再到英美澳念研究所或至少游学一番,反之亦然。如前述黄氏就相告说,其公子过后会再到欧美游学以互补中外差异。笔者另一位刘姓友人,其从小受英文教育的公子在英国著名大学毕业后,现亦在北京选修中文。
其实,起码在东南亚,把孩子送到中国念书的,不止当地华侨华人。笔者就有一位马来西亚土著朋友,其爱女现在西安大学念医学。而马来西亚首相纳吉布的公子,也曾到北京外国语大学深化其中文掌握能力。

总而言之,外来学生到中国各层次的学府求学,业已成为一股会持续下去的风气。展望未来,希望此风也可在中国更进一步与世界接轨的过程中扮演积极的角色。

送回国,明智的选择!

戴霆霆出生于1999年2月,生在西班牙,长在西班牙。我们做父母的下了很大决心,才在2009年夏天把孩子带回中国接受中文教育。
读到人民日报海外版8月6日的头版文章《送孩子回中国读书,走起》,勾起了我的回忆。
那一年,她10岁。在西班牙小学读完四年级后,她回到了老家浙江温州的乡下——永嘉上塘。由于中文基础不好,在上塘,她仍然就读四年级。一开始,她觉得有点困难,毕竟她在国外长大,中文基本上靠自学。不过,在老师与同学的帮助下,她不久就跟上了同学的脚步。在上塘接受了一年的基础教育让她受益匪浅。一年的时间里,霆霆中文进步很大,不仅能聊天,还能用中文写日记。她告诉我们,希望能在中国多住些日子、多学点东西……不过,由于她所在的西班牙学校学籍只能保留一年,2010年夏天,她不得不离开相处了一年的同学与老师,回到西班牙学校继续学习。
一回到西班牙的学校,问题就出现了。原先与她一起上四年级的同学,如今都该上六年级了。也就是说,当同学们在西班牙上五年级的时候,霆霆在中国上四年级。如果霆霆回到西班牙学校去上五年级的话,至少在心理上对她来说是一种打击。
我们希望霆霆能与以前的同学同班上课。但是,学校的意见是,不提倡让孩子学那么多东西,担心孩子太累,所以不同意让她跳级。在我的坚持下,校方做出了一定的让步:学校同意让霆霆升级,但要求我们自己出钱聘请一个家教给孩子补课,并且说明,如果半年之后仍然跟不上其他同学,就要让孩子转到五年级。
幸运的是,霆霆读书还是比较用功的。半年之后,霆霆的成绩比老师想象的好得多,有几门课程还受到老师的称赞。虽然霆霆在中国学习了一年,但回到西班牙后还能和原来的同学一起上学。从学习这个角度来说,我们还是感到很欣慰的。
而且,有意思的是,尽管中国和西班牙两国的老师对学生都有责任心,不过,霆霆觉得中国的老师比西班牙的老师更可爱,更有人情味。
到现在,一旦有人说起送孩子回国读小学的事,我仍然觉得我当初的选择是正确的,包括孩子本人也这样认为。孩子说,要是她不回中国,真的不知道,她对中国和中文会有怎样的概念。回过中国,才喜欢上中文,也喜欢上中国的老师和同学。
在中国读书期间,我们能看出来,每次做完功课,霆霆都很有成就感。当然,她的成就感还源自其他方面。她在中国期间曾代表学校参加乐器比赛,获得全县二等奖。她还在学校担任过小主持人。回到西班牙后,霆霆还多次接受电影公司的邀请,几次参与电影拍摄。
世上没有两全其美的教育。我认为,重要的是,让孩子自己在成长的过程中能够区分和识别,哪些是好的,哪些是不好的。学校只能教给你学习的方法,最终,还要靠孩子自己去领会。
